At Adras & Altig, Attorneys at Law, our Nevada criminal defense lawyers are passionate about criminal law and helping others. Our legal team is committed to sharing our knowledge and experience with the legal community and the public to help demystify the criminal justice system.
This year, we are thrilled to be participating as speakers and presenters, along with The Vieira Firm, in the NAACP Las Vegas branch’s 2024 Legal Education Series, “What the Fuzz?” We believe that arming yourself with knowledge about the legal and criminal justice system is one of the most powerful things you can do to protect yourself and your legal rights, and we’re excited for this opportunity to engage and educate the public.
About the NAACP Legal Education Series
The NAACP Legal Education Series brings together top legal minds and local lawyers who are NAACP members to present and discuss topics of interest and relevance to the public. “What the Fuzz?” is a six-part series that will focus on the criminal justice system and the importance of understanding the role your civil rights play in encounters with law enforcement.
What Topics Are We Covering?
What happens if you find yourself face-to-face with a police officer? Whether it’s a traffic stop, a search, or a jailhouse encounter, knowing and understanding your legal rights is essential. The “What the Fuzz?” series will show you how to protect your rights when interacting with law enforcement in some typical situations.
On the agenda are six presentations and discussions focusing on criminal law, law enforcement practices, and navigating the legal process. These presentations include:
- February 29 – “Bluebird on my Shoulder, Getting Pulled Over”: Traffic Stops
- March 28 – “Six in the Morning Police at my Door”: Warrants & Searches
