The attorneys at Adras & Altig are pleased to sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, an Essay Contest to help students with college expenses and to raise greater awareness of the issue of crime in your community and hometown.
If the people of the United States learned anything from the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, it’s that communities need to come together in times of adversity. We want to hear from the future leaders and aspiring minds currently enrolled in college or planning to attend in the Fall of 2021!
Enter to Win
To enter the 4th Annual Essay Contest, students should submit an original essay on the following topic:
In what ways can communities come together to prevent crimes? What are some of the most important crimes your city is currently are dealing with and is enough being done?
Prizes
Adras & Altig, Attorneys at Law will award prizes to three student essayists chosen as winners of the Annual Essay Contest. The prizes will be:
- First Place—$1,500
- Second Place—$750
- Third Place—$500
Each winner will receive a check from the Vegas law firm to be used for education-related expenses.
Eligibility
The essay contest is open to juniors and seniors in high school, as well as students enrolled in two-year and four-year colleges and universities and graduate school programs in Nevada and throughout the United States. Applicants who are 17 years old or younger will need to provide parental consent to enter.
Applicants should submit an essay as a Word document or PDF, a digital photo of themselves and a school transcript.

General Rules
Students should submit an original essay of approximately 500 words.
By submitting an application and essay, you acknowledge that if you are selected as a winner, Adras & Altig will own all rights to publish, distribute, and promote the essay.
By accepting a prize, all winners grant Adras & Altig the right to use their name, biographical information, and photographs for marketing purposes.
The winners will be chosen by a selection committee. The submission of a plagiarized essay will result in disqualification. The decisions of the committee are final.
Employees of Adras & Altig, its boards of directors, and immediate family members are not eligible to enter the essay content.
