Adras & Altig, Attorneys at Law, announces the winners of their 2018 scholarship contest, continuing their focus on giving back to the communities they serve. The law firm sponsored a Criminal Justice Essay Contest that is aimed to help students with college expenses and to raise awareness of the issue of cyberbullying.
Many adolescents heavily use social media sites like Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook. However, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, at least 20% of students have been victims of cyberbullying and the damage it can cause.
That’s why Adras & Atlig, Attorneys at Law is dedicated to raising awareness of this societal. They are confident that young individuals will have some great concepts about how to control cyberbullying. Thus, they hold the essay contest last 2018 to invite discussions on the topic and present winning student essayists a scholarship to help them pursue their education.
Adras & Atlig, Attorneys at Law, received many strong entries this year. However, ultimately they narrowed the field to 3 winners. The first place was given to Drianna Dimataluc, second place goes to Felix Moisand, and Keelan McConkey earned third place. The three student essayists chosen by a selection committee received $1,500, $750, and $500, respectively. The winners of the Las Vegas criminal defense attorney scholarship program received a check from the law firm which will be utilized for education-related costs.
The essay contest was open to seniors and juniors in high school and for students enrolled in 4-year or 3-year colleges, universities as well as graduate school programs across Nevada and through the U.S. Students were asked to submit an original essay of at least 500 words and discuss what must be done to help stop cyberbullying and prosecute cases that involve harassment and cyberbullying.
The lawyers at Adras & Atlig, Attorneys at Law acknowledge the significance of getting a quality education as a step forward accomplishing personal goals and following a fulfilling career. The students of today are our community leaders of tomorrow. The law firm is happy that they’re in a position to help and wish good luck to all participants who wish to enter the essay scholarship contest this 2019.
